Writes: Dusko JOVANOVIC, a representative in the Parliament of the Republic of Montenegro (28th October 2000. “DAN”)
On Wednesday, half an hour after midnight the beating once again attacked the truth, honesty, pride and the dignity, not just of one man, but of all people in Montenegro who are pressed down by the sad burden of everything made by authorities in Montenegro.
It seems the Socialist People’s Party has shown the “kitchen” where the “beating recipes” are prepared. It seems that there has been given a sign to unknown persons to use beating to try to make silent a part of the Parliament where the trade is impossible, a part which talk to people with arguments, because the people who grabbed the authority and money don’t like them.
The Montenegrin police, like in the previous cases, would take the “ comprehensive measures” and “successfully find” the guilty persons who tried to beat a representative in Parliament and in that way, all the honest people whose interests are represented in the Parliament bravely and openly by that Representative.
The dark from the darkness
All the police in the world, even this Montenegrin one, could find a trail when trying to find an accused, if in nothing else than in the way of committing a crime. The Representative Dusko Jovanovic has been the third man of the Yugoslav orientation in Montenegro who was attacked in the same way, at the same time of a day and in front of his apartment, just like the High Officer of the Yugoslav Army was attacked in Niksic, or the director and the owner of the RTV “Elmag Television”. It happened at night. The dark “spoke” from the darkness...
The police is investigating… the thorough measures has been undertaken trying to reveal the attackers and to arrest them. By the time, a question will be asked some time in the Parliament regarding these happenings. The answer by the police will be short and without additional comments, because every long answer could be used by the “committers” and they would lose every trail. And time is passing. The committers are maybe waiting a new sign from their bosses for some similar beating task, or eventual liquidation.
A citizen would think in this way
In a democratic country, where the Law rules, where the citizens are safe and secured, where the privileges are equal for all people and where the people are equal in front of the Law, there aren’t so many “unknown committers” as in Montenegro. And if there were so many, it would mean that the police are incapable, that the police authorities do not do their job properly and that they should be replaced by the successful people. This is the attitude of an ordinary citizen. Maybe others think that the police are successful and that they complete their tasks successfully. Who knows…?
It is known however, that there isn’t such a small country with so many members of the police, there isn’t less justice or greater insecurity, as there is in our country.
Why would anyone like to attack physically and maybe with the intention to kill Dusko Jovanovic the Representative in Parliament?
The RP Jovanovic is not a businessman, he does not “trade” cigarettes, drugs, weapons, he does not smuggle the goods, so he does not have any debts to mafia to give them a reason to beat him. Dusko Jovanovic does not go to the cafés, he does not drink, he does not argue, there is no reason for anyone to attack him.
Dusko Jovanovic is …
Jovanovic is completely different. He is a real people’s representative, who always openly speaks about people’s problems, not hesitating to say robbery for a robbery, to speak about criminal pointing to the place where criminal comes from, to talk about quick wealth and those who make their fortune quickly, and to tell to regime that that is happening inside their circles and in their patronage. After these lines about what Dusko Jovanovic speaks in the Parliament maybe it is clearer where the beating comes from, and that is the place Socialistic People’s Party is talking about.
In the chaotic countries
Only in the countries of chaos and great insecurity, in the countries where the mafia is starring, or in the far history where the tribes were organization of a country, the people had to organize themselves for a life struggle. Are we unfortunately there?
Socialistic People’s Party after all what has happened (and many things have happened not only to RP Jovanovic but to ordinary citizens and that is mainly to those who don’t think like regime) has to warn the government and to tell them that it will have to organize themselves to take care of the people and of their members, to defend honor, dignity and the freedom when the regime is incapable of that, regarding the people without privileges…
The warning is dramatic. Just like the situation is. Maybe because the authorities feel that they are losing their ground, and their investments and the gains of the individuals are huge. The fear is not without a reason because they are afraid of what can happen in the future when they lose their power. That fear, the government could win easily if they arrested the committers, criminals and robbers, and began the real democratic processes in Montenegro; it will happen when the freedom and the security of the citizens are on the first place.
The people cannot be frightened by the beating, nor can the illegal grabbing of the Representative’s bag with the documentation destroy the evidences about robbery of the people’s property.
The Representative in Parliament Dusko Jovanovic and other Representatives who sit opposite the Government are the people who have nothing to hide. They speak in the Parliament. They speak in behalf of the people and the people cannot be suppressed by beating. Some day the people will judge them. Then the committers and those who gave orders will be the first victims…
