Writes: Dusko JOVANOVIC, a representative in the Parliament of the Republic of Montenegro (19th November 2000. “DAN”)
First in Cetinje and then in some other Montenegrin cities the organization “Resistance” has shown up.
For now it is phantom one, no one knows who is behind it.
No one knows who is behind it or who is inside it.
The only known thing is who is in front of it.
In front of it are the Montenegrin police, who are trying to reveal the “young rebels” in every way.
The “verticals” have forgotten how they welcomed the “Resistance” from Serbia.
They were treated like the “Spanish soldiers”.
Special shows, special receptions, special treatments.
For the “Resistance” from Serbia everything was special, for the Montenegrin “Resistance” Special Forces only.
Few more statements and they can expect the treatment of terrorists.
In that case there is no help for them, even if they are supported by famous Velimir - Velja Ilic with his mechanization from Cacak.
“Pobjeda” and “Dan”
Who says that “Pobjeda” does not read “Dan”?
After the critics to the director of the Brewery from Niksic in “Dan”, the daily “Pobjeda” gave everything from itself to make commercials for him. Actually, on the 9th November “Dan” published the critical reaction of a businessman addressed to the director of the Brewery Patrick Dirick personally. Completely neutrally, the critic was evident, however, for the final judgment it would be necessary to hear the other side. That was provided by “Pobjeda” which devoted a whole page to Patrick Dirick, just three days after.
After the reading you can get the impression that everything in the Brewery is perfect.
The truth is that beer flows out of brewery sometimes.
In his ode in “Pobjeda” the director of Brewery didn’t explain why the quality of beer was worse.
That is the truth at least when we talk about the beer for domestic market.
He also didn’t explain why he hadn’t employed more people, but he had given a job to a half of those who had worked there before the privatization, with all those investments.
The truth is he admitted that the Brewery, in past times had been a “mother” to the citizens of Niksic and had distributed all its profit to them and that couldn’t be the case anymore.
That is the biggest truth in the privatized Brewery.
In the past the people’s Brewery employed entire Niksic, built Niksic and made Niksic famous, and nowadays’ Brewery has forgotten Niksic and takes care only about the profit and better lives of those structures which are behind the privatized capital.
One of the first privatized companies in Montenegro, it is the favorite of the authorities and at the same time the favorite of “Pobjeda”.
Drive Misko
Just as the Montenegrin citizens have filled their reservoirs with the fuel at the price 1, 5 DEM a litter, they can expect new price raising about 1, 8 or even 2 DEM a litter.
The Montenegrin officials explain all that with the raising of fuel price in the world.
Of course they won’t tell to the citizens what that “world price” was before the domestic raising and what it is now after the price raising. They would have to say that earlier it was about 40 pfennig and that now it is 0, 5 DEM a litter.
If they said that the citizens would ask themselves to whom and for what they are paying that half of mark a litter difference. And why?
The citizens would ask themselves also how that the same fuel in Serbia is much cheaper, and it is also provided from the “world” at the “world price”.
Through the Serbian newspapers (“Blic”, 14th November) we come to know that the Serbian Government is preparing to raise the fuel prices, too.
The new price should be 37 dinars or one DEM.
With this price raising, which will be 37 dinars, it is said in “Blic”, it will be provided the means in the Serbian budget of about 240 million dinars, or near one million DEM.
The Montenegrin citizens are asking themselves who or what are they financing through the fuel price in Montenegro.
And until when?
However, that punishment, which citizens have been paying through the fuel prices about 1, 5 DEM a litter, isn’t enough, so the Government of Montenegro is preparing the new raise.
Obviously, the existing financing sources of the “For a Better Life” authorities are vanishing and the difference has to be pulled out of the citizens’ pockets.
Drive, Misko!
The state without the nationals
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro has stated that from the 1st to 15th April of the following year in Montenegro the nationals will be registered, and that is the obligation for the NATIONALS of Montenegro in the Republic and outside of it.
This is the opportunity to make the register of the nationals in Montenegro finally.
Let’s see how many of us there are and where we are.
Let’s count us.
In the meantime, one of the heads of the municipal local self-government in Bar asks publicly: “Why isn’t the nationality registered as an obligatory data for all voters in the electoral rolls”?
Obviously, the lower state officers, especially the local ones, don’t know the big state problems, like the nationality is. Until there is no the national register, for the needs of the Montenegrin government, in the electoral rolls, there are and there will be the foreign nationals.
What can people do, they vote in two states, and someone cannot vote anywhere not even in Montenegro.
Montenegro is the only state in the world which denies its nationals.
It would be the happiest if there weren’t one.
If there were less Montenegrins, than it would be “more vertical”, “more European” and “stronger” Montenegro.
How can we comment the state attitude in the other way if we see the statement of professor Dr. Blagota Mitric said for “Vijesti” on the 17th November:
“On the referendum the decision on the independence can be made only by the adults who are Montenegrin nationals and whose residence is Montenegro at least for two years”.
It means, that the intention of the Montenegrin government is not to let, the Montenegrin nationals who don’t live two last years continually in Montenegro to vote on the eventual referendum.
Something like this has never happened in Europe.
Blagota Mitric deliberately forgets that:
Nowhere in the world can you find an example that a state has denied its nationals.
The only right which anywhere in the world a citizen of a state has and which cannot be denied to him is to decide on the destiny of the state whose national he is.
When you decide on the destiny of your state the residence is unimportant.
It was unimportant to the Slovenians when they were making their state.
It was unimportant to the Croatians when they were making their state.
It was unimportant to the Macedonians when they were making their state.
It was unimportant to the Bosnians when they were making their state.
It was unimportant to the representatives of the International Community while monitoring the creation of these states.
It is important only to the official Montenegro which wants to make apatrids i.e. persons without the nationality, from the hundreds of thousands of its nationals who live outside Montenegro.
Easy Professor, we will see if it is possible.
Kostunica
At the beginning in the shy way and then more openly, the pro-regime Montenegrin media “have been attacking” the Yugoslav president Kostunica.
No one will wonder if in the following few months “Vijesti” would publish a headline “Slobo come back, please we forgive you everything”.
The most “painful” thing for the Montenegrins is that Kostunica use to say that Montenegro is not a democratic country.
Anyway, Kostunica is the least responsible person for Milo Djukanovic had the wrong political evaluations.
He also is not responsible for Milo Djukanovic turned his recent associates and favorites from DOS who were his welcomed guests in Sveti Stefan against himself.
Kostunica isn’t responsible for Milo Djukanovic’s favorite from Bosnia Dodik failed on the elections.
The bad luck, as well as the good luck never comes alone.
The accounts From Switzerland
The European Union has charged the power American tobacco companies. Among them is famous “Philip Morris”, and all of them have been charged for the cigarettes smuggling few billion marks worth.
In these indictments the inevitable places in the smuggling chain have Montenegro, Albania and Macedonia.
The three democratic European pearls.
Just to remind, not so long ago the prime ministers of these three “democratic pearls” officially met.
It can’t be excluded that during this meeting they were talking about the interest accordance of the tobacco business.
The European Union considers that the accounts, on which the earned money from the cigarettes smuggling has been paying off, are situated in Switzerland so they are unreachable to the investigators.
In that way the European Union asked from Switzerland to provide it access, by the special law, in the suspicious accounts, as the main organizers of the international cigarette smuggling could be brought before the court.
That is the new reason for worry to the new rich Montenegrins.
Who knows whose names they have?
Maybe they have the name of some Montenegrin tobacco boss.
