If the candidate submits an article from the printed media, it is important that a logo of the newspaper, author’s name and the publication date are clearly seen on the photocopy or scanned article.
The forms of the application for the TV are DVD or VHS recording, and for the radio MP3 or audio cassette.
With the application for the TV or radio report, it is necessary to submit the verification signed by the editor or the director.
With the application form and the copies of the work it is necessary to attach the application letter with the following elements: the name of the article or the series of the articles as well as the name(s) of the journalist(s) who worked on them; the summary of the investigative journalism work; the topic and the synopsis of the story including the most important data that are discovered; the evaluation of the contribution to the cognition of the truth in some sphere of life; how the story started (a tip, a task, a personal initiative, etc.) ; the most important extractions and examples of the suggested investigative work; the note if someone doubted if the story is true – if it is the case an explanation is needed; the advice to other journalists who are planning similar projects; the detailed description of the used scientific methodology, in what way you verified the results of the methods you used, in what way those methods lead to the information, if you asked for help of the scientist- describe his/her engagement; the short biography of the candidate with the photo and the explanation of the candidature.
The candidates will be evaluated by the Jury consisting of one member – representative of the Foundation while other members will be renowned experts in the field of journalism. The jury will reach the decision on the Award until 15th May, and the Award Ceremony will be held on 27th May 2015, on the day of Dusko Jovanovic's murder.
