Participants of the conference had a chance to witness the price for the freedom of expression in countries like Montenegro - Forum director Mr Bertrand Pecquerie said.

World Editors Forum condemned yesterday the unsolved murder of editor and director of the daily Dan Mr Dusko Jovanovic. The head of the Foundation devoted to the first murdered editor in Montenegro Mrs Slavica Jovanovic said that his name and work must not be forgotten.

The European Conference, organized by Dutch-Flemish Association for investigative journalism VVOJ was held in Brussels on 21st and 22nd November 2008. On various round tables, panel discussions and lectures, present journalists were able to exchange experiences and improve international cooperation. NGO the Foundation Dusko Jovanovic from Montenegro was presented to numerous journalists during the ceremony of VVOJ annual award for best investigative story.

In her speech, Mrs Slavica Jovanovic informed the audience with the work and plans of the Foundation established in memory of her late husband and Dan editor Mr Dusko Jovanovic.
The interest of journalists was enormous and the frequently asked questions were related to Dusko’s work and his murder. Many of them approached and showed support to the project which makes the name and the work of one journalist last forever. The colleagues shared the information about this award which is international and awarded every four years in their newspapers and on web sites.

One-day conference on investigative journalism was dedicated to murdered Dan editor and director of the company Jumedia Mont Mr Dusko Jovanovic. Almost all-day conference was organized by the European Centre for Radio and Journalism and The BBC World Service Trust under the patronage of British Embassy in Montenegro while the local coordinator of the conference was the Foundation Dusko Jovanovic.
